Solar Panel Super Flat "black tiger sf 160" with 160 Wp, ETFE surface, 43x Sunpower cells, 1440x540mm
Description
Solar Panel Super Flat for slightly arched camper roofs
Super flat, semi-flexible solar Panel with 160 Wp. Particularly suitable for slightly arched surfaces - can be glued directly to the roof of the camper without a compensating substructure.
"black tiger sf" solar panels have an ultra high efficiency of 24.2%, an optimized temperature coefficient and further improvements for maximum performance. They were uncompromisingly designed for more electrical power per area in your camper.
Highest cell efficiency
A comparison is worthwhile here! The solar moule "black tiger sf 160" and "black tiger sf 110" achieve a full 24.2% efficiency! To make this possible, we only have the modules fitted with cells of the highest quality class.
What does "highest quality class" mean? Solar cells are like an natural product - the performance of the cells produced fluctuates. After their production, they are therefore bombarded with light under very specific conditions, their performance assessed and divided into certain quality levels. For the production of all of our solar modules, we only use cells that have achieved the highest rating.
24.2% - that always sounds so little, but in fact our solar modules achieve the highest level of current feasibility. In addition, features such as a low temperature coefficient ensure the best possible performance even in heat or at dusk, for example.
Optimized temperature coefficient
The performance of solar modules decreases with increasing temperatures. Many conventional modules have a problem, especially when they are installed directly on the roof surface (and thus poor ventilation / cooling options).
Our semi-flexible solar modules, on the other hand, are optimized for a better temperature coefficient (power drop per degree Celsius). When it is hot, you can achieve up to 25% more energy than most conventional panels!
ETFE surface / microlenses
ETFE is a very special plastic, the surface features can be compared with a Teflon coating of a frying pan. The solar module is thus quasi "non-stick coated for dirt". So it stays clean longer and therefore efficient. If cleaning is necessary, this is particularly easy thanks to the ETFE surface. ETFE is also more translucent than other plastics and is particularly heat-resistant.
The ETFE surface of the semi-flexible solar module is equipped with microlenses. If the sun is at an angle, a lot of light is normally reflected from the smooth surface of the solar module and can therefore not be used. The microlenses prevent this. They bundle the light and pass it on to the surface of the cell.
Lowest susceptibility to defects
The cells of "black tiger sf 160" and its smaller brother with 100 Wp are kept extremely thin and therefore less prone to cracks due to vibrations and shocks. In order to really offer the highest level of reliability, our solar modules also have a full-surface copper contact layer on the back. This results in less concealed area on the front and leads to the effect that damage to individual cells or cell areas does not lead to failure of the entire module (as is often the case)
Bypass diodes for performance in partial shading
A special interconnection with bypass diodes ensures that if the module is partially shaded, the output does not drop completely. Certain areas remain unaffected by each other, so that cells in the sun can continue to produce full yield, while other cell areas are in the shade.
Flexibility
The frameless "black tiger sf" solar panels are flexible enough to adapt to the curvature of your vehicle's roof. There is no need to create a level substructure or a roof rack.
The flexibility of this panel with 160 Wp is 2.5 %, that means you can bend a bridge of 36 mm over the whole length.
The panels may only be bent lengthways.

Super flat, ultra light
"black tiger sf 160" weighs just 6.5 kg. A laminated fiberglass plate ensures stability despite its low weight.
Connection
The connection is made on the front using a pre-assembled, 7 m long cable with a diameter of 2 x 4mm2 in a waterproof junction box. For roof penetration we recommend the $ # a: 124542: waterproof cable penetrations from Scanstrut (6-10mm) # $.
Solar controller
A solar controller is always required to connect the panel to the battery. To connect the panel to a solar controller, the cable only needs to be laid in the vehicle and connected to the corresponding "+" and "-" poles of the controller.
The $ # a: 124827: SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 # $ solar controller is sufficient for one module. If you want to connect several panels together, a larger controller is required. You can find out which controller you need with the following calculation:
