Diesel Stove "Sibirien"
Diesel Stove "Sibirien"
Cosy stove warmth in your camper van – with a visible flame in the 1.8 kW version: The Sibirien diesel stove runs on diesel fuel and is available in two versions. Here you’ll find both stove variants and accessories for your installation. Your heating setup, available space, flue routing and fuel supply are the key factors when choosing the right model.
Is the Sibirien diesel stove right for your conversion?
Want to enjoy the sight of a flame as well as the warmth of your heater? The 1.8 kW Sibirien diesel stove is the right choice for this. In the 2 kW version with a water heating coil, the visible flame is less of a feature. Both versions provide diesel heating without the need to store firewood or keep adding logs. This heating setup is particularly worth considering if you’re planning the stove as a permanent feature of your living space from the outset.

To learn more about the diesel stove, take a look at Svenja’s video. In an interview with Martin from tigerexped, she discusses the questions she needs answered before installing the stove in her expedition vehicle. When planning your own installation, the installation and operating instructions and the specific conditions in your vehicle remain essential.
Which version do you need: space heating or an additional radiator?
The 1.8 kW Sibirien releases heat directly into the living space and lets you watch the flame through its viewing window. The 2 kW version also has a water heating coil for connecting a radiator; the flame is barely visible in this model. Base your choice on your planned heating setup and how important a visible flame is to you, rather than on the stated heat output alone.
Can it run without electricity?
With a suitable tank positioned above the stove, fuel can be supplied by gravity. This allows the stove to run without an electric fuel feed pump. If the tank sits lower, you’ll need a suitable pump. Whether your entire heating system can operate without electricity also depends on whether other components, such as a circulation pump for a connected heating circuit, are required.
Check early on where your tank can be installed and how the fuel supply will be arranged. If you need a fuel feed pump, make sure it is suitable for the stove and that its operating voltage matches your electrical system.
Plan the stove location and flue together
The flue is an essential part of the heating system: the stove needs sufficient natural draught for reliable combustion. The length, routing and construction of the flue therefore need to be planned around the installation location.
You’ll also need to allow for the combustion air supply, clearances from combustible materials and space for a suitable roof penetration fitting. Make sure the stove remains accessible for operation and cleaning. Follow the requirements for your specific stove model and the flue components you use.
Which accessories does your installation need?
Alongside the diesel stove, this category includes components such as flue pipes, roof penetration fittings and fuel feed pumps. The parts you need will depend on your installation. Check what is included with your chosen stove against your installation plan before selecting accessories.
If you’re unsure whether the flue routing, fuel supply or an additional heating circuit can be accommodated in your vehicle, discuss these points with us before buying. That way, you can choose your stove and matching components based on a carefully planned installation.
