Description

99% Camper Electrical Complete Kit – your easiest way into vanlife

No electrician? No problem!
When doing a camper self-build, the electrical system is often the most feared part of the entire project. No wonder – there are so many devices and possible combinations. If you don’t want to dive deeply into the subject, it’s easy to lose track already when choosing the components.

The good news:
You don’t have to. Our experts – experienced camper travellers themselves – have put together a perfectly matched camper electrical complete kit that, with a high degree of certainty, meets exactly your needs (more on that in a moment). In addition, you receive an installation guide and wiring diagram that enables you, even as a beginner, to install the components professionally.

How self-sufficient does the camper electrical complete kit make you?

An average power consumption in a camper during the travel season from Easter to October is around 500–800 Wh per day – depending on weather conditions and usage, sometimes a bit more, sometimes less. Let’s take a look at how this demand can be covered with the 99% Camper Electrical Kit:

Self-sufficient with solar

With the 150 Wp black tiger solar panel included in the kit, you can expect around 550 Wh per day in summer – more if conditions are good, a bit less in bad weather. That means that on many days with average summer weather, you’ll already be completely self-sufficient. In other words, you can stay in one place as long as you like without shore power or charging by driving.

Of course, this isn’t just useful for off-grid camping. With good weather, you can also save the additional electricity costs at campsites, which often run at €5 per day or more.

Self-sufficient by driving

If the weather isn’t great, the included Victron 110 Ah LiFePO4 battery, with a capacity of around 1400 Wh, will still last you several days without much input. Even if the weather is so bad that the solar system delivers nothing at all (or you’re parked completely in the shade), your energy reserve should still last two days or more.

And even then, you’re not forced to drive to a campsite or parking area with a shore power connection and pay money for a place you might not even want to be: the 30 A DC-DC charger supplies around 300–400 Wh per hour of driving. That means after just 1 to 2 hours of driving, you’ve already “driven back in” your daily energy consumption.

So if the weather is really bad and you’ve completely discharged your battery, it takes around 3 to 4 hours of driving with the DC-DC charger to fully recharge it from empty. If the solar system covers 50% of your daily demand, you only need to drive about 30–60 minutes per day to cover the average power consumption. If you plan to visit many different places during your trip, you may never actually need to plug in at a charging point.

Charging via shore power

On shore power, the system charges at around 190 W, meaning the battery will definitely be fully charged again after one night. So if the weather doesn’t cooperate and you also don’t feel like driving around much, you can simply recharge for one night every few days at a campsite – you probably need fresh water or a long, hot shower every now and then anyway.

Everything under control with the battery monitor

The battery monitor shows you the state of charge at all times and, especially practical: how long the battery will last at the current consumption.

When the 99% Camper Electrical Kit is NOT right for you

Roughly speaking, if you:

  • cook on induction,
  • work autonomously on a laptop in the camper for full office days,
  • or want to live permanently in your camper

this kit will not be sufficient for you.

For these cases, we offer personal consultation with our technical experts by phone. They will determine your exact requirements together with you and put together an electrical package tailored precisely to your individual needs. Do these criteria apply to you? Installation – easy and professional installation of the 99% Camper Electrical Complete Kit

We make installation easy for you. You receive an installation manual and a wiring diagram that is easy to understand even without specialist knowledge.

What you should still bring with you:

1) A bit of manual skill and at least a basic understanding of how electricity flows in an electrical system.

2) You should also have a certain basic set of tools – but you’re probably not only installing electrics and will need suitable equipment for your project anyway.

In addition to standard tools, you’ll also need a crimping tool to fit the supplied cable lugs onto the cable ends. Why don’t we do that for you? Because the required cable lengths vary from camper to camper. The 99% Camper Electrical Complete Kit includes sufficient meters of high-quality FLY/FLRY cable – being able to cut it individually to the required lengths makes you flexible and independent of other people’s ideas and plans during your build.

Which vehicles is the 99% Electrical Complete Kit suitable for?

You can install this camper electrical system in any van / bus / other vehicle with a 12 V onboard electrical system and 12 V living area system.

The cable lengths are generously dimensioned, so you can also wire a long van without any issues.

What exactly is included in the 99% Camper Electrical Complete Kit?

This is everything included in your camper electrical system:

Your energy storage:

  • 1 × 110 Ah tigerexped LiFePO4 battery
The tigerexped batteries are extremely easy to install and require no additional components.
The internal BMS disconnects the battery in the event of deep discharge, impending overcharge, or excessive temperature. Victron batteries have also proven themselves for many years in tens of thousands of vehicles, boats, and both small and large houses. They are durable and enjoy the highest level of user trust thanks to excellent real-world experience.

Your b2b DC-DC charger:

  • Victron Energy Orion-TR Smart 12/12-30
This DC-DC charger charges the battery via the alternator and provides a clean, stabilized, and smoothed voltage for sensitive consumers – even if the alternator voltage fluctuates heavily, as is the case with modern vehicles (Euro 6 and newer with so-called smart alternators), or if other disturbances occur.

The microprocessor-controlled charging system ensures both fast and gentle full charging of the batteries, followed by float charging. It also allows simultaneous supply of loads in parallel with the auxiliary battery.

Your shore power connection:

  • Blue Smart IP22 Charger
A professional battery charger from Victron Energy. Equipped with Bluetooth for status monitoring, configuration, and updates when new features become available.
  • CEE shore power inlet
  • CEE to Schuko adapter

Your complete solar system:

  • 1 × black tiger solar panel with 150 Wp
Solar panel with a 24.8% cell efficiency, optimized for maximum energy yield. Solar output even at dusk. Three bypass diodes for even more power in partial shading.

Additionally:

  • matching Victron Energy Smart solar charge controller
  • solar cables
  • matching PV connectors and sockets
  • a set of mounting corners for the panel
  • solar cable gland
  • Dekalin adhesive kit

Your central electrical system:

  • TEXU 200 central electrical unit “UFO”
This round central unit greatly simplifies installation of the camper electrical system. Connect all components directly without detours such as busbars or additional high-current fuse holders – and you are done!

Your monitoring center:

  • tigerexped battery monitor mini, showing battery state of charge, current, and voltage.

Additional installation accessories:

  • high-quality FLRY Type B automotive cables in various cross-sections, red and black
  • sufficient matching tubular cable lugs in professional quality
  • blade fuses
