filter water

Water filters for your camper or motorhome help you specifically improve water quality while on the road, allowing you to use the water you carry on board as drinking water. Our Alb Filter systems combine three complementary functions: Nano retains bacteria and fine particles, Active reduces substances such as chlorine and improves taste, while Protect pre-filter pads shield the cartridges from coarse impurities.

Filtering water on the road: what does each filter stage do?

The Alb Filter Nano uses a hollow-fibre membrane with a pore size of 0.1 µm. It retains bacteria such as E. coli and Legionella, along with particles large enough to be caught by the membrane. Nano therefore provides fine mechanical filtration.

The Active activated carbon filter complements this function: through adsorption, the activated carbon binds certain substances dissolved in the water. These include chlorine, which can noticeably affect the taste and smell of water at some filling points. Active can therefore improve the taste and odour of your water, but it does not replace Nano’s bacterial filtration.

Protect pre-filter pads trap coarse impurities such as sand, rust and sediment before they reach the downstream cartridges. This helps prevent premature clogging and can extend the cartridges’ usable life. The specified replacement intervals still apply.

Filtration and water hygiene go hand in hand

Depending on the system, water is filtered when filling the tank or before it reaches the tap. Reliable operation still requires regular filter maintenance and clean tanks, pipes and connections. Continue to choose your water source carefully: even the combination of Nano and Active does not remove every possible contaminant and is not designed for desalination.
