Victron BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A
The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before the battery is fully discharged (which would damage the battery) or before there is insufficient power left to start the engine.
Automatic detection 12 / 24V
The BatteryProtect automatically detects the system voltage
The BatteryProtect can be set to switch on / off at different voltages. The 7-segment display shows the selected setting.
A special setting for lithium-ion batteries
In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS.
Note: the BatteryProtect can also be used as a load breaker between a battery charger and a Li-ion battery. See wiring diagram in the manual.
Super low power consumption
This is important in the case of lithium-ion batteries, especially after a low voltage shutdown. See our lithium-ion battery datasheet and the VE.Bus BMS manual for more information.
To prevent damage to sensitive loads due to overvoltage, the load is disconnected as soon as the DC voltage is 16V resp. Exceeds 32V.
Protected against ignition
No relays, but MOSFET switches and therefore no sparks.
The alarm is triggered when the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnection level for more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine therefore does not switch the alarm on. The alarm output is an open collector output that is resistant to short-circuit connected to the negative (min) rail, max. Current 50mA. The alarm output is generally used to activate the buzzer, an LED or a relay.
Delayed load decoupling and delayed re-coupling
The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm is activated. If the battery voltage within this time frame (after the engine has started, for example) rises again to the coupling threshold, the load will not be disconnected.
The load is re-connected 30 seconds after the battery voltage has risen to more than the pre-set re-coupling voltage.
