Scanstrut Roam Pressurised Water Inlet for Fresh Water Tanks
Fill your fresh water tank conveniently without having to hold a hose inside an open filler neck: the Scanstrut Roam Pressurised Water Inlet lets you connect a water hose securely to your camper and route the water directly into the fresh water tank.
An integrated non-return valve prevents backflow, while a stainless steel mesh filter keeps dirt and larger particles out of the incoming water. Once the tank is full, simply disconnect the hose and close the weather-protected cover.
Key benefits at a glance
- Convenient fresh water tank filling via water hose
- Secure hose connection instead of an open filler neck
- Integrated non-return valve
- Stainless steel mesh filter against dirt and particles
- Only 49 mm installation depth
- Water-contact materials compliant with NSF/ANSI 61 and WRAS
- IP68 / IP69K front protection with the cover closed
- Standard 95 mm mounting opening across the Roam Series
Fill your fresh water tank easily via hose
Instead of inserting a water hose into an open filler neck, the hose is securely connected to the Scanstrut Roam Pressurised Water Inlet. The available water pressure then moves the water through the connected filler line into the fresh water tank.
This is particularly convenient at campsites and service points with a water connection: connect the hose, fill the tank, turn off the water and disconnect the hose again.
Important: When used as a tank filling inlet, the fresh water tank must be adequately vented as usual. The tank itself must not be exposed to the pressure of the external water supply.
Integrated non-return valve and stainless steel filter
The integrated non-return valve prevents water from flowing back out through the inlet. A stainless steel mesh filter is also positioned directly in the inlet to catch dirt and larger particles before they enter the water system.
In addition to fresh water filling, the inlet can also be used for tank flushing. Alternatively, it can be used for direct connection to an appropriately designed onboard water system according to the City Water principle more commonly found in North America.
3/4" hose thread on the exterior
The exterior water connection features a rotating 316 stainless steel coupling with a 3/4" GHT female thread. GHT is the Garden Hose Thread commonly used in North America.
For typical European hose systems, a suitable adapter will usually be required. This allows the inlet to be combined, for example, with a compatible European garden hose system.
At the rear, a 1/2"-14 NPSM male thread is provided. A suitable adapter or fitting must also be selected here to match the water system used inside the vehicle.
Materials suitable for fresh water systems
The components in contact with water are made from glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene, stainless steel and EPDM. The materials comply with NSF/ANSI 61 requirements and have WRAS approval.
The connected filler hose, adapters and fresh water tank should also be suitable for drinking water applications.
Only 49 mm installation depth
With an installation depth of just 49 mm, the pressurised water inlet requires very little space behind the vehicle wall. Like the other connections in the Roam Series, installation uses a central 95 mm mounting opening.
With the cover fully closed, the front achieves IP68 and IP69K protection. Corrosion-resistant 316 marine-grade stainless steel components, UV-resistant construction and the supplied foam gasket are designed for permanent exterior use on recreational vehicles.
