Fill your fresh water tank directly from outside

The Scanstrut Roam fresh water filler connects the outside of the vehicle directly to the fresh water tank via a large-diameter filler hose. To fill the tank, simply open the lockable filler cap and add water from outside the vehicle.

No permanently connected pressurised water supply is required. The tank is filled by gravity – for example using a water hose at a campsite or from a water container.

Integrated ventilation for smooth filling

When filling a closed tank, the displaced air must be able to escape at the same time. The Scanstrut Roam drinking water filler therefore features a separate connection for a vent hose with an internal diameter of 10 mm.

The tank vent helps prevent back pressure inside the tank and allows water to flow in evenly. At the same time, it reduces the risk of water backing up unnecessarily at the filler neck or splashing back out during filling.

The filler channel itself is angled 18° downwards, directing the water towards the tank as soon as it enters the inlet.

Suitable for European and North American filler hoses

The rear filler connection has a stepped design and can be adapted to different hose diameters.

The first step is designed for filler hose with a 35 mm internal diameter. The second step is suitable for hose with an internal diameter of 38 to 40 mm, corresponding approximately to the widely used 1 1/2-inch size.

If the 35 mm step is not required, it can be removed along the designated guide. This can also create additional space in particularly tight installation situations.

Materials suitable for drinking water systems

The components that come into direct contact with the incoming water are made from glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene. Scanstrut uses materials that comply with NSF/ANSI 61 requirements and have WRAS approval.

The filler inlet is therefore intended for fresh water and drinking water systems. The other components in the water system – particularly the filler hose, vent hose and tank – should of course also be suitable for drinking water.

Lockable filler cap

The actual water filler inlet is additionally protected by a lockable cap. Two matching keys are included.

This allows access to the fresh water tank to be secured – particularly useful for vehicles parked on public pitches, campsites or left unattended for longer periods.

Easy access and simple cleaning

Cleanliness is especially important in drinking water systems. The filler area is therefore designed to be easily accessible after opening and straightforward to clean.

The smooth water-contact components and large filler opening make regular cleaning easier in the area that may come into contact with hoses, water containers or the surrounding environment during filling.

Weather-protected exterior installation

The Scanstrut Roam fresh water filler is designed for permanent installation on the exterior wall of the vehicle. With the cover fully closed, the front achieves IP68 and IP69K protection.

This protection rating applies to the front of the housing with the cover closed. During filling, the inlet is open and the IP68/IP69K rating therefore does not apply in this condition.

The outer cover is fully spring-loaded and features a 90° stay-open position. Scanstrut uses corrosion-resistant 316 marine-grade stainless steel for screws and other metal components. The housing is also designed for UV resistance.

Compact installation with only 70.5 mm depth

With an installation depth of just 70.5 mm, the fresh water filler can also be integrated where only limited space is available behind the vehicle wall.

Like the other connections in the Roam Series, the Scanstrut Roam drinking water filler is installed using a central 95 mm mounting opening. A foam gasket for sealing the housing against the mounting surface is included.

When planning the installation, sufficient additional space must be allowed for the filler hose and vent hose, including their required bend radii.
