Suction cup set for mounting tigerexped solar bags
With this combination of knurled-screw and Goliath-hook suction cups, the tiny or big tiger solar bag sits behind the windshield as if molded in place. This way you harvest solar power, with the solar bag protected from being "taken along", even while you are away from the vehicle. It also keeps the sun out of the cab, which slows extreme heating of the vehicle. Of course, the suction cups also hold the solar bag on any other smooth surface, such as the outside of the vehicle. Where you get the most yield at your location with which panel orientation, you can see via the Bluetooth connection of the charge controller to your phone in the VictronConnect app.
Simply pass the thread through the eyelets in the four corners of the solar bag and fasten it with the knurled screw. The two suction cups with hooks are placed as supports at the top and bottom center. Mounting is easiest if the lower Goliath hook is attached first. Set the solar bag down on it and then press the suction cups at the corners firmly in place. The upper Goliath hook is mounted last for a perfect fit without sagging.
The size of 60/50 mm provides a secure hold without covering the cells!
Black version, to prevent a magnifying-glass effect that can cause discoloration or even holes on the dashboard at certain angles of the sun.
Notes on use
The suction cups are extremely strong-gripping and are made by an experienced specialist in Germany. The key to making use of the grip is the cleanliness of the suction cup and the surface. Cleaning that also degreases (with dishwater, for example) works wonders. When attaching the suction cups, press in the center and preferably hold for 1 to 2 seconds so the air under the suction cup can escape.
Deformation
During transport and storage, the rubber of the suction cups can deform. We therefore recommend not folding up the solar bag with the suction cups mounted, but removing them after use.
If a suction cup has deformed, thanks to the high-quality material it can return to its original shape - simply place the suction cup in 80 - 90 degree hot water. The rubber "remembers" its original shape and takes it on again. The same applies if a suction cup has been attached to a surface for so long that it has gone "flat".
