See how much capacity your leisure battery has left, whether it is charging or discharging, and how long your remaining reserves are likely to last at your current consumption. Connect a compatible VOTRONIC solar charge controller to view your solar system's output and yield as well. The Smart-Shunt CI with a continuous current rating of 200 A and the ground strap are included in the kit.

How much battery capacity do you have left?
The Smart-Shunt CI measures the current flowing into and out of your leisure battery. The system uses these measurements and your battery settings to calculate the state of charge, taking battery characteristics and self-discharge into account. When a full charge is detected, the capacity display is adjusted accordingly.
Remaining capacity is shown in Ah, percent and as a bar graph. The current display tells you whether your battery is being charged or supplying your appliances. You can also view the voltage of your leisure battery and a connected starter battery.
Estimated remaining runtime is calculated from the available capacity down to the selected cut-off threshold and the current draw. It changes as your consumption changes. At very high currents with a flooded lead-acid, gel or AGM battery profile selected, this value is only a guide. No remaining runtime is calculated when no current is flowing.
View solar output and yield directly
With a compatible VOTRONIC solar charge controller connected, the LCD Energy Monitor CI also serves as a display for your solar system. You can view the current solar charging current, power output and panel voltage. Amp-hour and watt-hour counters also show how much charge and energy the system has delivered. The yield counters can be reset individually.
Compatible VOTRONIC solar charge controllers with CI-Bus connect via the bus cable. An additional RJ12 modular interface is available for older devices. It supports VOTRONIC solar charge controllers manufactured from 2014 onwards, the Solar Data Extender 3N1 or an older Smart-Shunt. Only one of these backwards-compatible devices can be used through this interface at a time.
Bluetooth built in
Bluetooth is already integrated into the LCD Energy Monitor CI. With the free VZE Control app, you can also view and save your energy data on a smartphone or tablet. No separate Bluetooth Connector S-BC is required.
Switch appliances according to battery charge
The included Smart-Shunt CI has a programmable switching output. Combined with an additional switching unit, such as a VOTRONIC Switch Unit, it allows connected appliances to be switched on and off manually or according to the battery's state of charge. The switch-on and switch-off thresholds are set on the monitor.
The switching output is rated for a maximum control current of 0.2 A. It controls the external switching unit; the high currents drawn by your appliances do not flow through the switching output or the display.
Compact display with CI-Bus connectivity
The display can be installed in an easily accessible position inside your vehicle. The white backlight has adjustable brightness and switches off automatically after five minutes without user input. A built-in clock shows the time in 24-hour format.
The Smart-Shunt CI is installed in the leisure battery's negative cable. All charging and discharging currents must pass through the shunt for the capacity calculation to work correctly. The shunt communicates with the display via the CI-Bus cable. The display also requires positive and ground connections for its power supply.
During initial setup, you select the battery type, system voltage and nominal capacity. The battery must then be fully charged as described in the operating instructions so that the state-of-charge display can synchronise with the battery.
