Autoterm Flow 5B (Binar 5s) petrol water parking heater 5kW 12V incl. installation kit and control unit

Thanks to programmable temperature thresholds and automatic mode, the heater can also be used as an auxiliary heater. During engine operation, it automatically maintains the coolant temperature if it drops below a defined value. This value can be set between 75 and 95°C (default: 85°C). Whether the electric pump runs during auxiliary heater operation can of course be configured.

Standby Mode

Allows the electric water pump to continue circulating water while the heater shuts down the burner once a temperature threshold (adjustable between 20 and 95°C) is exceeded. If water circulation in the system is ensured by other means, the pump can also be deactivated in standby mode.

Switching Output

The temperature at which the switching output (currently with optional relay kit) activates the vehicle blower (factory-installed ventilation/heating/air conditioning system) can also be programmed. The switching thresholds range from 30 to 60°C, with a default setting of 40°C.

(*)Note: Controlling the vehicle blower differs depending on the vehicle manufacturer. With increasing complexity of modern vehicles, this may require significant individual effort. We can only provide limited support here, as it is not possible for us to cover all vehicle-specific systems in detail.

Optional GSM Modem

With a convenient mobile app, the optional GSM modem allows remote control of the heater. Start parameters such as time and heating duration can be set, and the heater status can be checked easily.

For professionals: This heater features an additional switching input on the wiring harness, allowing connection of a custom remote control or secondary control unit. Only two wires need to be connected via a switch or relay. This can be done permanently, in which case the heater starts and runs until the connection is interrupted, or via a pulse. A pulse of 0.5–3 seconds can be used to switch the heater on, with the next pulse switching it off again. The advantage of the second method is that multiple control devices can be used—for example, a custom-built remote or push button. Note that this switching input is also subject to the 120-minute runtime limit of the original heater software.

Installation Information

The angled water outlets can be rotated by 180°. If required, straight outlets can also be ordered instead of the angled connections—depending on the installation situation.

Installation Without TÜV Approval

All Autoterm heaters have an E-mark (e2) and can therefore be installed without registration.

Control Units and Operation

A control panel is included in the scope of delivery (please select your preferred version). You can choose from the following options:

Comfort Control

Control unit with multifunction rotary knob and display: easy operation, timer function, voltage display, and thermostat mode – a proven all-rounder that also features a burn-off reminder and voltage monitoring, which can actively shut down the heater to protect the battery.

Touch Control

Modern touch control unit with clear menu navigation. Ideal if you value particularly convenient and intuitive operation and want to keep an eye on all relevant information.

Tip: Optional Push Control

Since 2025, two control units can be operated simultaneously on one heater – for example, one in the living area and one in the cab or sleeping area.

The Push Control unit is a compact, robust button for quick everyday operation (on/off and power levels). It can be combined with the Comfort Control or used on its own for minimal control requirements.

Note: The scope of delivery includes a fuel hose used as a connector. When cut to suitable lengths, the included quantity is usually sufficient. If unexpectedly not, additional hose can be ordered by the meter under item number 35612.
