Renogy 12V 40A DC-DC Charger - Battery Charger for Charging While Driving
The Renogy RBC40D1U is a compact DC-DC battery charger for 12V systems, designed to charge an auxiliary battery while driving using the vehicle’s alternator. Power is transferred in a controlled and regulated way from the starter battery to the house battery.
With a 40 A charging current, the unit is suitable for a wide range of electrical systems and supports multiple battery types, including AGM, GEL, Flooded and Lithium (LiFePO4). This allows flexible integration into both existing and newly built setups.
The integrated charging electronics use an intelligent multi-stage charging profile and automatically detect alternator operation. This ensures efficient charging while protecting both the starter battery and the vehicle electrical system.
The charger is compatible with both traditional and smart alternators. For modern vehicles, an IGN signal can be used to ensure reliable operation and correct charging behaviour.
In addition, the unit offers Bluetooth monitoring via the Renogy DC Home App, allowing real-time system monitoring and parameter adjustment.
Multiple built-in protection features, including overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit and temperature protection, ensure safe and reliable operation in mobile applications.
