The Orion XS 1400 is a powerful and versatile DC-DC battery charger suitable for both 12V and 24V systems. With an adjustable charging current of up to 50 amps and a freely configurable output voltage, it flexibly adapts to a wide range of system requirements. Galvanic isolation ensures added safety and system independence, especially in complex installations.

High-Performance Charger

Delivering up to 1,400 watts of charging power with outstanding efficiency, the Orion XS reliably charges even large battery banks and high-demand consumers. The charging current can be precisely set in 0.1 A increments—ideal for sensitive systems and for matching alternator output or battery capacity.

Thanks to its fanless design and aluminum PCB cooling, the charger achieves efficiency levels of up to 98.5%. At the same time, it remains compact, silent, and resilient—even under heavy loads or in hot climates. Thermal power derating protects the device from overheating without abrupt shutdowns.

Adaptive, Intelligent Charging Algorithm

The integrated four-stage charging algorithm (Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage) automatically adapts to the battery’s state of charge. It also considers the depth of discharge to smartly determine the absorption duration. Charging parameters can be customized for lithium or lead-acid batteries, including temperature-compensated profiles.

Ideal for Smart Alternators

The Orion XS is perfectly suited for modern vehicles with smart alternators (Euro 5/6). It automatically detects when the engine is running and begins charging only then. This helps protect the starter battery and prevents unnecessary load on the alternator—without the need for additional control wiring.

Comprehensive Protection and Convenience Features

Equipped with protection against overload, short circuit, undervoltage, overheating, and even low ambient temperatures, the Orion XS ensures maximum safety. It also features a remote on/off switch and can be easily monitored and configured via Bluetooth or VE.Direct.

The Orion XS impresses with its thoughtful terminal layout, rugged construction, and IP65-rated protection against dust and water.
