The SmartSolar solar charge controller made by the quality manufacturer Victron Energy uses Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology to determine the best operating point of the solar modules and to allow the maximum possible current to flow into the battery. Charging efficiency is optimized and energy production is increased.

With its intelligent charge management, the Victron Energy MPPT solar charge controller is able to recognize different battery types and adapt the charging characteristics accordingly. This ensures that the battery is charged safely and effectively, which also extends its lifespan.

Bluetooth

The operating parameters of the MPPT charge controller can be read and configured via Bluetooth and the app. It offers comprehensive information about the energy flow, the state of charge of the battery and other relevant data.

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)

Especially when the sky is overcast, when the light intensity is constantly changing, an extremely fast MPPT controller improves the energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and compared to slower MPPT controllers up to 10%.

Load output

A deep discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output disconnects the loads when the battery has been discharged to a specified voltage level. Alternatively, an algorithm for intelligent battery management can also be selected: see BatteryLife. The load output is short-circuit proof. You do not HAVE to use the load output, you can simply connect your consumers directly to the battery or similar as normal. connect if you protect the battery from undervoltage in another way.

Battery Life: intelligent battery management

If the solar charge controller is not able to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the status of the battery will alternate between "partially charged" and 'end of discharge' back and forth. This mode of operation (no regular full charge) will damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months.
The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the state of charge of the battery and, if necessary, day by day it raises the threshold for disconnecting the load (i.e. the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy harvested is sufficient to keep the battery up to charge almost 100%. From this point, the threshold for switching off the load is modulated so that the charge is almost 100% reached about once a week.

Super Service

Ich muss vorweg sagen, ich habe keine Ahnung von Technik oder Elektrik. Aber ich habe Mut.
Also habe ich einen Regler, Kabel und Saugnäpfe bestellt. Lieferung kam prompt und ich war überfordert. Wie schließe ich was an und was mach im mit dem Zeug. Offensichtlich fehlte auch was, war aber mein Fehler, weil keine Ahnung.
Also habe ich tigerexped angeschrieben und um Hilfe gebeten.
Was soll ich sagen, ich bin beeindruckt. Tigerexped hat mich nach einem Mailverkehr angerufen und mir alles in Ruhe erklärt und vor allen Dingen geholfen. Ich wurde nicht, wie so oft, als Doofmann hingestellt. Nein man hat sich um mich gekümmert.
