Solar Panel For Camper "black tiger" 100wp up to 180wp
Description
Solar panel "black tiger" 100/115/120/150/180 Wp
Get the most out of the roof area of ??your camper with black tiger!
A conventional solar panel is usually a compromise between what would be technically possible and the resulting costs (or lower profit / margin for the manufacturer if you do not want to offer the panel at a deterrent price). At tigerexped Solar we are not willing to make such compromises. Space for solar panels on the RV or boat is limited, electricity, on the other hand, is often immensely important, as not only the comfort of the vacation, but also often self-sufficient work depends on it. We have therefore focused exclusively on generating the highest possible electricity yield from solar in the camper in every situation.
A whole range of advantages make our solar panels real superheroes in energy generation.
What makes a "black tiger" solar panel so powerful?
Extremely high efficiency
With an efficiency of 24.12%, all of our "black tigers", just like our semi-flexible panels for rounded roofs, currently achieve the highest possible technical performance. We only use Top of the Range Sunpower Maxeon Gen. III cells for this.
What does "top of the range" cells mean?
You can best imagine solar cells like a natural product that never comes 100% the same. The cells are therefore bombarded with light under very specific conditions immediately after their production, their performance is assessed and divided into quality levels. In the complete tigerexped solar range, only the cells that have achieved the highest classification (quality class Ultra Peak Performance) make it.
In order to achieve the best possible performance in every situation, the "black tiger" solar panel for campers has other properties that make it a real high-performance module.
Solar panel with full (!) Copper layer on the back
In order to make the module as relaiable as possible, we use a full-surface copper contact layer on the back instead of copper connections (often installed on the front). This has two major advantages:
1. Less concealed area on the front and therefore higher energy yield in relation to the module size.
2. A significantly higher failure safety of the panel if individual cells of a module are damaged (micro-cracks, possibly also by knots or hail), this often leads to total failure of the entire solar module with the usual interconnection - the individual, important connections are not interrupted either damaged cells can no longer produce electricity. The full-surface copper contact layer of modules of the tigerexped solar series, on the other hand, guarantees the best possible supply of your electrical consumers, even with dead individual cells or cell Areas.
Improved temperature coefficient - more performance even in heat
Manufacturer's information on the performance of a solar panel is based on an ambient temperature of 25 ° C. The problem: If the temperature rises, the performance falls - the solar panel can work much less effectively when it is hot. And how quickly 25 ° C can be reached or exceeded on the roof of a camper ... The performance drops per degree increase in temperature.
"black tiger" solar panels, as well as our semi-flexible black tiger sf, counter this with a special optimization. In order to keep heat losses to a minimum, they are equipped with a high open circuit voltage and low temperature coefficients (power loss per degree Celsius). For you, this means: Up to 25% more energy yield than a conventional solar panel.
Larger, usable light spectrum
Only a fraction of the incoming light rays (within a certain frequency range) can be used by a solar panel to generate energy. The "black tiger" solar panel is able to use a larger frequency range, i.e. a larger light spectrum. This also includes the valuable last rays of sunshine at dusk, which can still be used to generate electricity for the electrical devices in the camper.
NEW: Now with 3 isolating diodes
The special interconnection of a black tiger solar Panel with now even one more isolating Diode guarantees maximum performanxe with partial shading. Cells in the sun are less affected by cells in the shade.
Framing and cover
The "black tiger" solar panels are covered by a special glass and set in an aluminum frame in elegant black.
Connect the solar panel
The connection is made on the rear using pre-assembled, two 0.9 m long cables with connectors according to the MC4 standard.
For watertight roof penetration we recommend either the $ # a: 106604: multi cable penetration # $ or two $ # a: 124542: horizontal cable penetrations (6-10mm) # $ from Scanstrut.
Solar regulator
In order to be able to connect the solar panel to the battery, a solar regulator is always required. For the connection between the solar panel and the solar controller you still need $ # a: 123903: solar wire # $ in the appropriate length, a $ # a: 123898: MC4 plug # $ and a $ # a: 123897: MC4 socket # $.
The $ # a: 124827: SmartSolar MPPT 75/10 # $ solar controller is sufficient for one module. If you want to connect several panels together, a larger controller is required. You can find out which controller you need with the following calculation:
The values ??of an MPPT 75/15 mean a maximum of 75V open circuit voltage of the panel (Voc) and a maximum of 10A nominal charging current. The Voc value is in the data sheet for each panel, the nominal charging current must be calculated. The black tiger 100 has a voc of 37.20V. That is less than 75V and therefore the solar regulator with 75V open circuit voltage is sufficient. To calculate the nominal charging current, divide the nominal power by 12.8V: So 100Wp divided by 12.8V results in 7.81A. That is less than 10 and therefore the solar controller MPPT 75/10 can be used for our black tiger 100.
Size and performance variants
Our black tiger high-performance solar panels are available in 5 formats for the best possible use of space on the vehicle roof. Particularly long, narrow ones, which with a width of just 42 cm can still be installed on the side next to a skylight, or a fixed, square special format that fits particularly well on most van roofs. Simply select the right one for your needs in the top right!
