Highest efficiency with Topcon n-type solar cells
Rely on maximum energy yield: Our ULTRAblack tiger solar modules are equipped with state-of-the-art Topcon n-type solar cells, which, with an impressive cell efficiency of 25% with this panel, are among the most powerful cells on the market for this module.
This technology ensures that you gain the maximum amount of solar power, even with limited space on the roof of your camper, van, or expedition vehicle.
Higher yield with partial shading thanks to clever wiring and bypass diodes
Partial shading of the solar panels can be compensated for while on the road. Shading by trees or buildings is often unavoidable. Our modules therefore utilize clever interconnection and bypass diodes to significantly minimize power losses when individual areas are shaded. This ensures you remain optimally supplied even under challenging conditions.
Robust technology for use in motorhomes and campervans
The modules are designed for use in all travel conditions: Operating temperatures from -40 to +85°C and compact dimensions for reduced vibration sensitivity while driving ensure that you are supplied with self-sufficient solar power wherever you are, even on bumpy roads.
Stylish yet unobtrusive – Uncompromisingly black design
The all-black design of these solar panels ensures that the module blends seamlessly and elegantly into the overall look of your vehicle.
Connecting the solar panel to the motorhome
Connection is made on the back via two pre-assembled, 90cm long cables with MC4 standard connectors.
For a waterproof roof penetration, we recommend either the multi-cable feedthrough or single (6-10mm) and double horizontal cable feedthroughs (5-6mm) from Scanstrut.
More information on setting up your solar system
To connect the solar panel to the battery, a solar charge controller is always required. For this, you will need solar cable of the appropriate length, an MC4 connector, and an MC4 socket (see our Solar Installation Materials category).
We recommend the SmartSolar solar charge controller from Victron Energy (please select the appropriate size). If you want to connect multiple panels, a larger charge controller is required.
You can find out which controller you need as follows:
The values of an MPPT 75/15, for example, mean a maximum open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 75V for the panel and a maximum nominal charging current of 15A. The Voc value is listed in the datasheet for each panel; the nominal charging current must be calculated. Example calculation:
Our Black Tiger 100 solar module has a Voc of 37.20V. That's less than 75V, so the solar charge controller with a 75V open-circuit voltage is sufficient. To calculate the nominal charging current, divide the nominal power by 12.8V: 100Wp divided by 12.8V equals 7.81A. That's less than 10, so the MPPT 75/10 solar charge controller is suitable for our Black Tiger 100.
